May 13, 2008 - Weekly Tourney Today!
Don't forget about the weekly disc golf tournament, today, Tuesday, May 13th at 5:15pm. We will be playing the much longer middle/back par 58 course today so please arrive early to checkin so that we can get everyone teed off by 5:30pm. We will have four divisions as usual Open ($12), Advanced ($9), Intermediate ($7) and Recreational ($5). Please call Mike Williams for more information 562-947-8744.
May 7, 2008 - Monthly Tourney Saturday!
This Saturday, May 10th is the 2nd Saturday of the month so that means that it is time for the La Mirada Disc Golf Monthly Tournament. On the 2nd and 5th Saturdays of the month we have a monthly tournament. On the 2nd Saturday of the month we play 2 rounds, Lakeside 18 PAR 54 and Backside 18 PAR 56 for a total of 110. The first round starts at 10am. The second round starts immediately after a 45 minute lunch break, which is usually around 1pm. Registration begins at around 8am until about 9:15am. We will have four (4) divisions as usual Open ($12), Advanced ($9), Intermediate ($7) and Recreational ($5). We have an ACE & EAGLE pool that costs an additional $1 to enter. Anyone who enters the pool and hits an ACE or EAGLE during the round will receive the pool amount. You can call Mike in the Pro Shop for more information 562-947-8744. May 6, 2008 - Weekly Results Posted!
It was a cool evening as we teed off for the weekly disc golf tournament. We played the Backside 18 PAR 56 course including about 4-6 WATER holes (we played through some very soaked holes with sprinklers running on holes 8-10 & 16-17. I’m sure everyone that played had fun dodging the sprinklers especially while they were putting! We had a great turnout this week with 33 players in four (4) divisions, Open (12), Advanced (7), Intermediate (9) and Recreational (5).
In the Open division we want to congratulate Craig Neill for shooting a whopping 44 (-12) for $60. Great Job Craig and hey can I borrow some money? We want to say welcome back to Jeff Neill who finished 2nd in the Open division after being absent for a long period of time. Nice to see you Jeff. In the Advanced division we want to congratulate Jimbo Fliehmann for making it back to the top with a score of 54 (-2) for $31. Nice seeing you on top again Jim! In the Intermediate division we want to congratulate regular player Kenny Ascheri who beat up the rest of the Intermediate players with a great score of 55 (-1) for $28. Kenny is close to having to move to Advanced.. We had a tie in the Recreational division between new comer Andres Arila and old time regular Tim Butler Sr. Welcome Andres and nice to see you again Tim. They both shot 63 (+7) for $12 each.

April 29, 2008 - Weekly Results Posted!
It was another beautiful April evening as we teed off for the La Mirada Weekly Disc Golf Tournament. We had a good turnout this week with 19 players in three (3) divisions, Open (6), Advanced (6), and Intermediate (7). There were no Recreational players this week. We played the Lakeside 18 PAR 54 course this week.
We had a tie this week in the Open division between “Super” Dave Bretado and our old timer Rob Wilson. They tied earlier this month so it was fitting for them to tie again here on the last tourney of the month. They shot 49 (-5) each for $28 each. In the Advanced division we want to congratulate regular Larry Grace for making it back on top again. He shot 54 (even) for $27. We had another Tie in the Intermediate division between Bobby Sheffer (2nd finish in a row) and Robert Milos. They shot 58 (+4) for $19 each. There were no Recreational players this week. We want to also welcome a new comer this week, Cletis Rogers. He just moved into the area from back east and says he will be playing with us. Welcome Cletis and thanks for playing! April 28, 2008 - Cresenta Valley Safari
If you want to play on a completely new disc golf course then you need to sign up this week for the 2008 Cresenta Valley Safari Disc Golf Tournament. We will be playing 2 rounds on a temporary disc golf course at the beautiful Cresenta Valley Park in La Cresenta, CA. The tournament is May 10th (yes the same day as the La Mirada Monthly). Check-In is at 7:00am to 8:00am for the 1st round. The tournament is almost full with 71 players registered out of the maximum of 90 players. You can sign up online here.

April 22, 2008 - Weekly Results Posted!
It was a warm afternoon cooling down to a cool breezy evening for the Weekly Disc Golf Tournament here at La Mirada Regional Park. We had a great turnout this week with 33 players in four (4) divisions, Open (7), Advanced (14), Intermediate (10) and Recreational (2). Welcome Recreational players! We hope to see more of you in the upcoming summer months! This week we played the VERY VERY difficult Lakeside holes #10-18 plus a new modified backside 9 PAR 34 course for a total par of 60! That’s right we have one (1) par 5 and four (4) par 4 holes on the new back 9 holes. We will start seeing the course lengthen from now thru May as we prepare for the upcoming Golden State Classic Tournament. So if you like the longer courses...give Mike a call and he will let you know when we are playing this longer course.
In the Open division we want to congratulate Jose Alcala for making it back to the top with a score of 54 (-6) for $42. In the Advanced division we want to congratulate long time regular Noah Rodriguez with his score of 57 (-3) for $52. We had a tie for 1st place in the Intermediate Division between regulars Bobby Scheffer and Evan Taylor. They both shot 65 (+5) for $25 each. In the Recreational division we want to welcome Andy Avila and Brandon Smith and congratulate Andy Avila who takes 1st place with a score of 76 (+16) for $10 in Merchandise from the Pro Shop.

April 12, 2008 - Monthly Results Posted!
We had a low turnout this month because everyone was at the 2008 Higher Flyer Memorial in Huntington Beach. But for those few that showed up here at La Mirada we got to play in some 90 degree heat. We played 2 rounds, the first round was the Lakeside 18 PAR 54 course which teed off at 10am. The 2nd round teed off around 1pm where we played the Backside 18 PAR 56 course for a total PAR of 110. We had 12 players in three (3) divisions, Open (3), Advanced (5) and Recreational (4). There were no Intermediate players this month.
In the Open division we want to congratulate Super Dave Bretado for taking 1st with a score of 100 (-10) for $36. We want to also congratulate Dave for taking the Eagle on the 2nd Round, Backside Course at Hole #15. This is the PAR 4 that wraps around the basefall field. Great Job Dave...of course that’s why we call him “Super” Dave. In the Advanced division we want to congratulate Stew Mendenhall for taking 1st place with a score of 111 (+1) for $29. There were no Intermediate players in the monthly. In the Recreational division we want to congratulate regular George Peich for taking 1st place with a score of 133 (+23) for $12.
